Makeup Artist + Hair Stylist for Style Me Perfect

Hair & Makeup Experience:

I have been in the hair and makeup industry for over fourteen years. I started out as a young gal thirsting for knowledge, working behind the counter for Lancôme cosmetics, to then attending cosmetology school and falling in love with cutting and coloring. I have built a career and passion for my clients, working every day to create new looks and styles to help them achieve their most beautiful look. I became a certified Mac-Pro and Makeup Forever Pro artist with extensive product knowledge. Now, as a freelance hair and makeup artist, I’ve worked on countless weddings and high-end photo shoots, as well as with top designers and cutting-edge photographers like Billy Reid, Robert Rausch, and Ken Tisuthiwongse, to name a few. Recent print and web publications include Garden & Gun magazine, Nashville Scene, No’Ala Most Beautiful, D Magazine, and Style Me Pretty.

 A Recent Work Snap:

What’s in Your Bag:

Bobby pins!  It’s a simple tool that takes up no room in my bag, but can transform any look in a jiffy.

LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK! LIPSTICK!  My favorite is a tinted gloss: Watermelon by Tarte. It has the fresh, light smell of a lip balm, glides on smooth, and adds a hint of shine. I want to wear it all the time.

My secret weapon is a travel size bottle of Argan oil. Not only does it seal up split ends and revamp my curls all in one little drop, you can even use it to moisturize dry skin.

Tools or Products You Can’t Live Without:

I cannot live without my teasing/smoothing brush.  My favorite is the Big Wonder #131 by Spornette. This size is great for my long hair, but can also tease, smooth, and refresh any look all in one brush.

Bumble & Bumble sun spray. It adds volume and texture to create a sexy wind-blown feel. It holds my hair, but also leaves a matte finish. I use it daily on myself, with clients, and on location.

Finally, I am in love with the bronzer Hula by Benefit. It’s not too dark or too light, and gives me the perfect contour leaving a natural and blended look.

Favorite Style Icons:

Sienna Miller. I always Google her understated, yet fashionable hair and makeup looks and style. To top it all off, I love that she is a mom.

Grace Potter. Not only do her songs inspire the artist in me, she makes me want to be a rockstar with her effortless “on stage to street” style.

I love getting to work with a diverse team of beauty and fashion professionals, and share my tips and knowledge with a larger audience. Beauty and fashion are forever changing, and my job allows me to create those styles with clients that want to remain fashion-forward, and not get stuck in a rut or chasing a fad.
